Toy Story 3 in 3D

On the weekend my Husband and i and our 2 sons went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3D.
Well for one when i was young they used to have 3D movies which i do not ever remember seeing. So this is my first.
I am not sure if it made a big difference seeing it in 3D or not. As i think i was so into the movie. I know at the beginning it was in 3D and later on at some points.
I have been looking forward to seeing this for some time. Yes i know i am an adult but when my oldest son was younger he used to watch the videos of Toy Story 1 and 2 quite a bit and even with my youngest son he also watched both videos. Yes i said videos.     :)      We have them both on VHS.
I liked both other Toy Story movies as i found them enjoyable and they always had some adult humor in them for us parents who take the kids to see these movies we want to enjoy them too.

I found Toy Story 3 to have its sad moments with Andy growing up and going to College and its exciting moments if the toys will be safe after they end up in a Daycare that the toys do not get treated well.  Also some scary moments with the toys too. But my youngest son did very well.

Also i was wondering how my youngest would do as this was his first movie at the theatre and sometimes his behaviour is not always good and he was great.

Looking forward to seeing movies and i for sure want to buy Toy Story 3 when it comes out to DVD.

So if you grew up watching Toy Story 1 and 2 and you enjoyed both of them than you will want to see this one for sure.

Andy growing up and deciding what to do with his toys and his toys trying to come back home to Andy.

What a great ending and it was sad and happy all at the same time.

                                                         SO PLAY NICE

Book Review of Venom And Song

                                              VENOM AND SONG

I had the opportunity to receive the book Venom And Song
Authors Wayne Thomas Batson and Christopher Hopper
from Book Sneeze

This book is book 2 and it is a Fantasy. Great for young readers or us Adults who still like to read teenaged books.
I had not read the first book but when i started to read the second it seemed that i  had to take my time tring to figure out the characters. But more into the stroy it seems to make sense and you could figure out what and who in the story was who in the story. But if you have the chance to read the first book of the series i would suggest you do that so you have more of what is going on. But what is nice about the book is it has in the front of the book a Principal Cast and Locations so you could go look at that and see and figure out what was what in the story.

It was a great start to the beginning of the book as it started out with action and fighting, it kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what was going to happen next. The older boy in the house would like this book for sure because of the action and because of the fighting so if the reader likes fantasy and fighting and suspense than this book is for them.

Also the book is about kids who are in middle school who are not your basic kids as they have powers and they have been told that they are the descendant of  Elven Lords hidden on Earth to protect them from The Spider King.
They encounter magical creatures that they have to battle and they train together to fight the Spider King.

This book is an adventure that makes you think of true strength, forgiveness, and working as a team.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Lots of exercise

Today started off with my Husband and i going to the Wentworth Stairs and walked those all the way down and than up and than half way down than up again. There is 500 stairs. It started off hot but nice.
Came home and relaxed for a little bit than showered.
My oldest son and i than went for a bike ride for an hour.
Thinking my legs were feeling like jelly already from doing the stairs than riding my bike. Oh my legs were not feeling the greatest.
But also my back side was sore from the seat of the bike. I was pushing myself today.
A couple of hours went by and i said to my oldest son lets do something again so we went for a 45 minute walk.  Still my legs feeling like jelly and tender. I have no idea why i was pushing myself so much today. I think  my oldest son was not a happy camper making him get outside and get some exercise.
But oh well.
I think it is a great way to enjoy eachothers company and talk. Though i think i talked more than he did. :)
Even yesterday my oldest son and i were outside walking quite abit as we did the stairs and walked along a trail. We walked for about 2 hous or a little longer yesterday and the weather has been quite hot.
Yesterday it was hazy, but today was a nice clear day.
It had rained last night but it did not bring down the heat we have been having.
Now i wonder what i will do tomorrow.

CLOSED How do you get your kids to embrace summer reading?

I wrote this blog post while participating in the TwitterMoms blogging program to be eligible to get an "I Can Read!" book. For more information on how you can participate     http://www.twittermoms.com/forum/topics/share-tips-for-getting-kids-to

Getting my oldest son to read was easy as he always liked us reading to him at night.  He enjoyed us laying down with him and reading and he always wanted more books to be read to him. We would read 3 books to him a night from short stories to longer stories. The older he got we would get him to read to us also and see what words he would recognize in the books. Also getting your child to tell you about the book you just read is good for the memory and how they think the story went. We all understand things differently so hearing your child tell you is interesting in the way they think and feel about it.
With my youngest we read to him at night also and still do.  But not as much as we did with our oldest. As he does not always show interest in books. But we keep trying to read because we feel it is good for him and us as parents for togetherness time. He will talk while trying to read books and not always listen. But during the last few months of school my youngest son brought books little ones home that they had to read. He did pretty good on them as they had pictures on the pages also which helps kids with knowing what is going on. For example the page would show a picture of child swinging on swing and the sentence would be child swinging on swing. But i find that children will only look at the pictures and not the words.
So i would tell my youngest son to look at the letters and words also so he could learn the words.  He started doing better at his reading. But he still has time to learn as he is only 5.
I find that reading lets them go into a world of imagination and thinking that you yourself can be a part of that book.
It is good for learning of sometimes new words and your kids sometimes will ask what does a certain word mean.
When they are babies and toddlers you show them picture books with simple words and the older they get you go to books with longer sentences.
Your children enjoy the time together and learning together.
My oldest son still reads as he enjoys fantasy books.
He will read at night mostly before bed and books are always something we purchase for holidays for our oldest son as he likes to relax and read.
So take the time and go into another world and open pages of a book. Use your imagination and let your kids tell you a little bit of what is going on and watch them smile while your having time together to cuddle and just having fun.

What better place to spend time is at the table enjoying company and food.

                                                 Also they ship to Canada.

I know that my Husband and I had thought about getting a Trampoline before for our youngest son. I know he would enjoy it.
So that is what we decided on.
                                                                           This is the model
Crescendo Fitness 36" Mini Jump Trampoline in Black - 80110

My youngest son posing in front of the Trampoline
When i received it the only thing i had to put together were the legs on it. Which were easy they just screw on.
Than your ready to start using it.
I was glad it was easy to assemble.
My son and i have been using it quite a bit.
We brought it outside and enjoyed the weather and having fun on the Trampoline.
He pretends to be my instructor and he will do some jumping on it and than he will say Mommy now it is your turn and you have to what i just did.
 I think my instructor (son)
Had some good exercising for me.
I know we will have more fun using it.
The Trampoline is nice and sturdy when jumping on it.

July Holiday

My Husband and i and our boys went on a Holiday. We are not big travelers as well time and money can make things hard.
Mostly we do not feel always great about doing things with our youngest son as he is not a listener and he can be a tough cookie. We always think he will misbehave.
Bur for how long we were in the car and the heat and all the things we did he was pretty good.
Things turned out better than expected.
Thank goodness.
We had gone away in May for a couple of nights and that turned out but this was a week.
I should have put up about that trip to the Finger Lakes as we had a great time and very nice pictures.
But i am still getting used to do this blog and well i don't think anyone pays attention.
So any ways we went away for  anight to Albany just to stay a night and ate dinner at the Cracker Barrel. Nice dinner and lots of food. The next day we went and saw my Husbands brother and his wife and a couple of the kids at a camp they were at in Noorwood Massachusetts. So we were shown the camp and walked around. Than my Husbands brother took us out for ice cream. My Husbands brother also showed us the Synagogue he is a Rabbi at.
Later that day we ate supper at my Husbands brothers house. Very nice spending time with family.
The next day we went to Boston with my Husbands brother and walked around Quincy Market.
Than took Upper Deck Trolleys  tour around Boston.

Went to the USS Constitution and Charlestown Navy Yard

Saw the USS Cassin Young

Saw Fenway Park

Drove to New Hampshire the next day lots of Mountains through out the drive. Great scenery to take in.
We went to Polar Caves Park New Hampshire

Also went to Lost River Gorge

water under a caveDinner that night at Muddy Moose
Getting ready for the next day to go up Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeastern U.S., attains an elevation of 6,288 feet

Going up in the Cog Railway
The top.

Now Wild Cat Mountain
 GONDOLA SKY RIDE

Misty, cloudy
Now to Flume Gorge and Visitor Center at Franconia Notch State Park, in the heart of the popular White Mountain National Forest

Heading to Vermont

Mount Mansfield Vermont now at my Husbands cousins house Than our long drive home from Vermont took about 11 hours. As we had stopped a few times for washroom breaks and snacks. Than crossing the border took sometime which is understandable.
But we had a wonderful trip but it is nice to be home.
I know that we will travel again and our youngest son was easier than expected.
We lasted a week our longest holiday in a long time.
It was well worth it.
I did not post all pictures but it was breath taking and great.
