Belwood Lake Conservation Area
Belwood Lake was created in 1942 with the construction of the
Shand Dam, the first dam in Canada built solely for water control
purposes. Conservation area visitors can stand on the top deck of the
dam and see the vista of the Grand River valley below. A stairway along
the face of the dam allows
visitors to walk down to its base. The flow from the dam is used to
generate
hydroelectricity.

The food was very good and good portions
and the service was very good too
Elora and Fergus look like little gems. My kids would love the dam. Will have to see how close they are to us. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for checking out my blog and it is a very nice place to walk around and check out. It matters where you are from in Ontario for the distance to get here. As we are from Hamilton and it took about an hour and half to get here.
