Bathroom renovation

Our bathroom was in need of a new look as it was getting bad as in mold and the bathtub, shower area was falling apart and wall paper looking not so great anymore. We had been holding it off. As well it costs money.
But it was time before it ended up getting worse.

Old look with most of the wallpaper off.                  Ceiling paint chipped over time and mold.

Old floor that had mold in the corner near bathtub

What we found behind the one cabinet. Yes a big hole. That they put a board in. The original owners i think they wanted to put the cabinet into the wall and changed there mind so they covered it up and just put it on the wall.

Had the other medicine cabinet taken out of the wall and this is what we find
a picture of a sail boat and filled with razor blades. Strange

Our contractor cut a big hole to fill with one piece of drywall

But before our bathtub area can get done the floor has to be done first.
This is not a great picture as the rest of the bathroom does not look nice so the floor does not look just right but with it all done it is very nice. It matches perfectly and has a nice look to it. The flooring company Jonathons Perron had to remove the old floor and subflooring as it had mold and replaced both.

Now for us taking the bath, shower liner away

We ended up getting Bath Fitter to do our bathtub surround and wainscoting.
You have to look at what they do. Very good job.

Now for the painting

All done

Storage cabinet and light and mirror and accessories all came from

Our contractor did the painting and hanging of everthing in the bathroom. He did a great job.

Here is a better picture now of the floor with everything done

Accessories

Hope to have this bathroom looking good like this for a long time and may it last.

It seems with having a home there is always work to do.

  1. Very nice bathroom! We are in the process of painting one of our bathrooms right now. It's a creamy yellow shade similar to the colour in your bathroom!

  3. I HOPE YOUR BATHFITTER DOESN'T LEAK AND RUIN YOUR ROOM LIKE 1 IN 5 DO, INCLUDING MINE. TOTALLY RUINED BY WALLS AND FLOOR. WOULD HAVE BEEN CHEAPER TO BUY A TUB THAT GET BATHFITTER. BUYER BEWARE! GLAD YOU HAVE PIX.... YOU WILL NEED THEM.

    1. Thank you for the information. I hope it lasts for sure. We were in need of an updated bathroom and we had waited some time before doing so.
