Goderich Day Trip

We went on a day trip to Goderich Ontario and we checked out Huron Historic Gaol
which served as the County Jail from its opening in 1841 until 1972 when all inmates were transferred to regional facilities. Also we walked along the Menesetung Bridge

Our drive was a mixture of sun and rain

We went out to eat when we got to Goderich and we sometimes like to check out
Restaurants
and we ate at

West Street Willy's Eatery

 which was also on

It was a very nice lunch and service and the location has a lot of shopping if you wanted to

Now to the  Huron Historic Gaol  County Jail

This was very interesting to walk through and they let you use an audio guide as you press in numbers that were on items through out the jail to hear more information. We all enjoyed this

Now to the Menesetung Bridge

Formerly built as the C.P.R. railway bridge in 1907, it was at the time of its construction, the longest railway bridge in Ontario. The rail line between Guelph and Goderich was abandoned in 1989 and converted to a walking trail in 1992.  The bridge offers fantastic and unique views of the Goderich Harbour, Lake Huron and the Maitland River Flats.
